What is Dalee?

Dalee is a daily word puzzle. Every day there is exactly one new five-letter word, and everyone in the world gets the same word that day. You have six guesses to find it.

How to play

1. Type any five-letter word and submit it as a guess.
2. The tiles change color to give you clues:
   • Green — the letter is correct and in the right spot.
   • Yellow — the letter is in the word, but in a different spot.
   • Gray — the letter is not in the word at all.
3. Use those clues to narrow down your next guess.
4. Solve the word within six guesses to win — then come back tomorrow for a new puzzle.

Example

If the answer is PLANT and you guess PAINT: the P is green (right spot), A and N and T are yellow (in the word, wrong spot), and I is gray (not in the word).

Frequently asked questions

How often are there new puzzles?

One brand-new word every day, refreshing at midnight your local time. Everyone gets the same daily word.

Do I need an account or to sign in?

No. There are no accounts, logins, or sign-ups. Just open the app and play.

Does it cost anything? Are there ads?

Dalee is completely free with no ads and no in-app purchases.

How do streaks work?

Your streak goes up by one for each consecutive day you solve the puzzle. If you miss a day (or don't solve it), the streak resets to zero. Your best streak is saved separately.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing bad — you simply start a new streak the next day you solve one. There's no penalty beyond the streak resetting.

Is my data or progress collected?

No. Your progress and stats are stored only on your device and never sent anywhere. See our Privacy Policy.

Does the game work offline?

Yes. Dalee runs entirely on your device and needs no internet connection to play.

How do I reset my statistics?

Because all data is stored locally, deleting and reinstalling the app clears your stats and streaks.

I found a bug, or a word seems wrong.
